Comment: remove old information that is useless now
Deletions are marked like this. Additions are marked like this.
Line 1: Line 1:
= Setting up an MSN-XMPP account in !BitlBee = = The MSN-XMPP servers are gone =
Line 3: Line 3:
Microsoft claims that newer Skype clients should be used to access MSN, actually those contacts are reached using XMPP, not Skype's native protocol. Here is how you can see those old MSN contacts in !BitlBee. (And not by using the Skype plugin.) Probably gone forever, and the skype protocol is probably used for everything.
Line 5: Line 5:
<<TableOfContents(2)>> The old MSN protocol still works. See HowtoMsn to use that.
Line 7: Line 7:
== Connecting using OAuth ==

If your login is alice@live.com, use alice@messenger.live.com as login.

{{{#!irc
12:12:54 <alice> account add jabber alice@messenger.live.com
12:12:54 <root> Account successfully added with tag jabber
12:12:54 <root> You can now use the /OPER command to enter the password
12:12:54 <root> Alternatively, enable OAuth if the account supports it: account jabber set oauth on
12:13:03 <alice> acc jabber set oauth on
12:13:03 <root> oauth = `on'
12:13:06 <alice> acc jabber on
12:13:06 <root> jabber - Logging in: Starting OAuth authentication
}}}

The rest is really just like how it happens already with Facebook/Google jabber OAuth, nothing special.
